Not sure what was going on but maybe it was a driver issue? Something of the like?Īnyway though - when I put the computer to sleep it actually shuts off now. Ive done it a few times now to make sure and its been alright. The virus itself is called: Win32:Malware-genĪnyway though - when I put the computer to sleep it actually shuts off now. Update: I just checked the "scan logs" in Avast! and in the "results" section of the boot time scan I recently did it says that "no virus was found".

exe and turns out it wasnt a system file but a Kodak Easy Share App file and that it may have been a false positive. It uses a different monitor - though Im assuming that doesnt matter. After that change the LAN port temporary stopped working but then started working again somehow. Let me go through recent changes: - It changed positions from my room to the living room. I can usually trust Malwarebytes to find something if there is something and there wasnt. My computer was functioning fine for the last few weeks but then started acting weird. I also booted into Safe Mode and scanned with both Malwarebytes and Ad-Aware and both turned up nothing. I think I switched one or two other features as well but cant remember what. I also checked the BIOs and it was set to S3 as it should have been. I went into msconfig and disabled like 6 or 7 startup programs - most of which were related to the printer. When I set the computer to sleep mode - the computer seems to go into sleep mode when you look at the display but then the computer - which has LED Fans and RAM stays on and thats how I can tell its on.Īlright, the computer seems to be running fine. I also purge the electricity in the system by pressing the power button with the PSU switched off and that seems to help too though that may just be the restart. Sometimes when turn the computer back on from forcing it to power down it doesnt show the windows logo or anything. Sometimes it boots and sometimes it just hangs. Now heres the problem Im having: when I boot up the computer its really slow and a black screen flickers in and out as it boots. Im not sure if it is gone or not but we'll see.

I also just installed the drivers for a wireless printer - though the computer isnt directly connected to it. I scanned with Malwarebytes - and it found NOTHING. I scanned - it was detected - and during the boot time scan it WASNT able to remove it or move it. It got a virus - one that attached itself to the Listener.exe - my dad always screws my computer up with this shit. Avast works like most other free antivirus software, working constantly in the background and informing you whether something dubious turns up on your computer during a browsing session.
